This lesson is for the R&M Spacemaster SX overhead crane. It runs on a bridge in the shop or bay. It is not a truck crane, so outriggers are not the check. Try the upper limit switch with no load. Read the rated capacity from the floor. A cracked hook or a latch that will not close stops the lift.

Path and controls

Clear people and stored material from the bridge and trolley path before the crane travels. The pendant or the controls return to off. The emergency stop works. Rope or chain and the end connection are looked at for excess wear, twist or stretch. If the crane ID does not match the crane on this record, stop and correct the record.
